Technical SEO
What is Backlink (Inbound Link)?
A backlink is a link from another site pointing to yours — the "vote of confidence" that weighs most for domain authority.
Backlinks are SEO's strongest historical signal: who you are depends on who cites you. But quality > quantity — 1 link from a major site is worth more than 100 from low-authority blogs.
Attributes matter: dofollow (passes authority) vs nofollow/sponsored/ugc (does not). Relevant anchor text > "click here". In-context links (article body) > footer links.
