What is Pix (Brazilian Instant Payment)?
Pix is the Brazilian instant payment system, launched by the Central Bank in 2020 — 24/7, free for individuals, very cheap for businesses.
Pix transformed the market: became the #1 collection channel in BR SaaS (more than boleto, more than card). Typical fee for businesses: R$ 0.01-0.05 vs R$ 3-5 for boleto and 3-5% for cards.
For recurrence, there is Pix Cobrança (boleto-like) and Pix Automático (rolling out in 2026, will compete with recurring card). Native support is a baseline requirement for BR products.
