What is Boleto (Brazilian Bank Slip)?
Boleto is the Brazilian payment slip with barcode — usage dropped after Pix, but still relevant for B2B and high tickets.
Boleto takes 1-3 days to clear (vs instant Pix) and costs R$ 3-5 to issue. But it remains relevant: large companies still prefer (control, reconciliation), high tickets (>R$ 50k) use it out of habit.
In SaaS, boleto is a fallback for those without cards or wary of online payment. Modern: hybrid boleto (generates Pix + boleto, customer pays the preferred one).

Will boleto disappear?
It will decrease but not vanish. For formal B2B flows and high tickets, it remains the preferred channel for years.
Does boleto work for recurring SaaS?
Functionally yes (recurring boleto), but operationally costly: customer pays each month. Card and Pix Automático are better.
