What is Wireframe?
A wireframe is the low-fidelity skeleton of a screen: structure, hierarchy and flow, without final color, font or imagery.
A wireframe focuses on LAYOUT and LOGIC, not aesthetics. It allows aligning information architecture quickly, without the team getting stuck on button color or typography.
Wireframes can be hand-drawn, in Whimsical, Figma low-fi, or AI generators. The value is in what they FORCE the team to discuss (what goes where, how it flows) before polished design.

Is a wireframe the same as a mockup?
No. Wireframe is structure (low-fi); mockup is static high-fi; prototype is interactive.
I skipped wireframe and went straight to high-fi. Mistake?
For simple flows, OK. For new products or complex journeys, skipping wireframes makes structural rework costly later.
