What is UX Writing?
UX writing is the craft of writing interface texts (buttons, labels, error messages, empty states) — copy that guides the user, not sells.
UX writing has its own rules: imperative verbs ("Cancel order"), benefit before effort ("Get it in 2 days" > "Confirm"), and tone consistent with brand.
Where it pays most: error messages (turn frustration into clarity), empty states (guide new users), and tooltips (reduce support). Low-effort, high-impact.

Does UX writer belong to design or product?
In mature teams, a separate role close to design. In small teams, designer or PM doubles up.
Does AI write UX copy?
Yes, with a good prompt. But tone of voice and brand context still need human review — generic UX copy hurts the brand.
