What is Outbound Marketing?
Outbound is the strategy of actively going to the prospect (cold email, calls, paid media) — you go to them, not wait to be found.
Outbound gives control: you define whom to reach, when and with what message. It is the fastest way to generate predictable pipeline, especially in B2B sales with a defined ICP.
But it has rising cost (CAC grows with volume) and permanent dependence: stop investing, stop generating. Inbound complements by creating assets that reduce that dependence.

Frequently asked questions
Does outbound work for SMB or only enterprise?
Both, with adaptation. Short-cycle low-ticket SMB needs shorter cadences; enterprise needs more per-account research.
Is cold outreach considered outbound?
Yes, it is the main outbound tactic in B2B. Cold email, LinkedIn and cold calls are the 3 most common fronts.
